About this tool

Convert a Unix timestamp to a readable date, or a date back to a timestamp. Nepal Standard Time is UTC+05:45, and the forty-five minutes are why generic converters get it wrong — Nepal time is shown first here, alongside UTC and your own clock. Seconds and milliseconds are detected from the number of digits, and the current timestamp ticks live at the top of the page.

Nepal Standard Time is UTC+05:45, and those forty-five minutes are why a generic converter is no use here. Most offer whole hours only, or round to +06:00, which lands a cron run, a delivery window or a log entry a quarter of an hour away from where it actually falls. Nepal time is shown first on this page for that reason.

Seconds or milliseconds is guessed from how many digits you paste: a ten-digit number is seconds, thirteen is milliseconds. Override it with the buttons when the guess is wrong, and the guessing stops for the rest of your visit.

Unix time counts seconds from 1 January 1970 UTC and ignores leap seconds, so the same number means the same instant everywhere on earth. Only the way it is displayed changes with the zone.
