CSV to JSON Converter

Convert both ways, with quoted commas and semicolon exports handled correctly.

How the rows were read

First few rows, split the way the converter sees them. If a value spilled into the wrong column, the separator above is wrong.

About this tool

Turn CSV into JSON or JSON back into CSV. The parser follows RFC 4180, so a quoted field containing a comma, a doubled quote or a line break survives instead of splitting your row apart. The separator is detected from your data, since spreadsheets across Europe and South Asia export semicolons rather than commas. Numbers and true/false can be converted to real JSON types, while values with a leading zero are left alone so phone numbers and IDs stay intact.

Splitting a CSV on commas works until a field contains one, which in a real export is most of them: addresses, product names, anything a person typed. This parser follows RFC 4180, so "Kathmandu, Nepal" stays a single value, doubled quotes decode to one, and a quoted note containing a line break stays one row.

Spreadsheets in much of Europe and South Asia export semicolons rather than commas, so the separator is detected from your data instead of assumed. The preview under the boxes shows how each row was split — if a value sits in the wrong column there, change the separator before trusting the output.

Type conversion turns 34 into a number and true into a boolean, but leaves anything with a leading zero alone: phone numbers and IDs lose their meaning the moment 0977 becomes 977.
